As impossible as it may seem, it was 35 years ago today that Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan first hit theaters. (Man, those stardates fly by, don’t they?) Easily the best film featuring the original cast, and quite possibly the best Star Trek movie ever, the movie features Captain Kirk and the Enterprise square squaring off against their old adversary Khan Noonien Singh as he enacts a deadly plan of venegance against them for stranding him and his U.S.S. Botany Bay crewmates on Ceti Alpha VI (as depicted in the episode “Space Seed“).
The film is crammed with iconic moments — Ricardo Montalban‘s scenery-chewing performance, William Shatner‘s infamous “Khannnn” scream, the Death of Spock, etc. To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the film, we wanted to share with you the following vintage interviews that were filmed to promote the film. Check them out:
Wonderful. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to watch the film for the umpteenth time. It never gets old.
